Inter club leagues begin

The Mt Lawley Ladies Division 1 team set out on the first inter-club matchplay games this morning in Cottesloe Golf CLub. There are 6 players on each team. I was number 6 on our team. I had to give 8 shots but won the match on the 17th - 2 up. The team halved the match overall. We play next Friday at home in Mt Lawley. Ther ewill be 7 matches over the next few weeks. The series gives me a great opportunity to play several of the beautiful courses in the Perth area - of which there are many.

The team gathers at the first tee.

Me and my caddie - Gayl. I will caddy for her on Monday.

The 10th - our first hole. A long Par 4 - downhill. Can you see the blue ocean over the trees?

Ladies Opening Day

Now that the long, hot summer is over (NOT!) the new golf season begins. Today is the opening day - shotgun start at 7.45 am after the Lady President 'drives in'. Of course, we wore the Paddy's Day colours!

Perth's black swans ...

Two of them came gliding past, took a look at us, and decided that we were of no interest - luckily - they are very tame and if food was on offer, they would come out of the water and try to get it!
Meanwhile, those grey/blue clouds coming in from the left (west) developed into a fierce storm over the hills to the east, causing widespread damage with ferocious winds and lashing rain. A few weeks ago the same area of the hills was devastated by bush fires! We had no rain in Perth.
