Last day of visa-exile in Singapore.

These three ginormous buildings are the new casino and leisure centre. They are constructed in sections on the ground and hoisted aloft by cranes - like a giant lego project! The tops will be joined together by a marine park - complete with swimming pool. They are 50 stories high.

I went to a lunch-time concert in the Asian Civilisations Museum. It was given by two string concerts from the Singapore conservatory. They were very impressive - Schubert's 'Death and the Maiden', first two movements, and a Beethoven quartet.

Penguins

There is a large climate-controlled penguin enclosure in Jurong where you can watch the birds swimming underwater.

Jurong Bird Park


is the largest bird park in Asia with thousands of birds. It was opened in 1971 and gros bigger every year. Its a long walk though a tropical rain-forest.
