Australian Chamber orchestra
The ACO were in town on Wednesday night in the concert hall. I went along with Basil Lofthouse, a St Ives villager, who has season tickets in the fourth row so I spent the evening about 10 yards in front of Richard Tognetti! He is an amazingly fine musician - such sensitive directing! My favourite was the Bach Cantata - very expressive playing in all parts - so beautiful. I hated the Burrell!
Tognetti returns to Perth with WASO in June - must get tickets. - Tognetti has been designated a 'national living treasure' in Australia! Suzuki was so designated at age 88 in Japan!
