Charity Day in Mt Lawley

Today the ladies of Mt Lawley put on a huge fund-raiser for three charities. There were stalls for selling things and raffles in the clubhouse. The game started at 8.30 am. It was a stormy, rainy day but we survived! The format was shotgun start and 'American' foursomes - we call it 'Scotch' in Cork! My partner and I were runners-up - that's the second time this week!

Fire in st Ives

We had more drama in St Ives last Friday. Electrical wires caught fire under the roof and sent smoke into the main building. No great damage was done but there was great drama as the residents of the clubhouse were evacuated and the fire brigade came to offer assistance and find the couse of the fire. So now, we've had flood and fire - what next?

Rosie O'Grady Mondays

We went to Rosie's again this week - prior to watching The Last Station in Cinema Paradiso - an account of the last months in the life of Tolstoy - again a great movie - especially after imbibing mild liquor!
