Pennants - match 5
It was off to Lakelands Country Club in the northern suburns on Friday morning early for the latest match play event. It's a long, flat course with wickedly fast, contoured greens. It was a dull day - overcast - but at 24 degrees it was not cold. I was first out for the Mt Lawley team and found myself 3 down after the first three holes - not nice! My opponent was young and fit and could out-drive me by about 40 yards - but the old reliables of old age, cunning and a steady short game came good and we were level after 9. I won the match 3/1 and the team won 3 and a half to 2 and a half. A good day out. One more match left - next Friday.
