We went to Broome for the weekend. We flew Virgin Blue - the Oz airline. Shortly after take-off from Perth you are over dry arid land - and just before landing in Broome about 2.5 hours later, the land turns red. Broome is very far north - tropical climate. Beautiful in 'winter' - even more beautiful than Perth??? It was up to 30 degrees each afternoon - not much lower than 20 by night. Bootiful!
