As supergroups go, they don't come much bigger than the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The 120-strong orchestra, widely hailed as the best in the world, has confirmed that it will play its first ever Australian concert at the Perth Concert Hall on November 14 before heading to Sydney to play four concerts at the Opera House.
Led by British conductor Sir Simon Rattle, the Berlin Philharmonic will perform Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances and Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D major.
'To have this world-renowned orchestra performing in Perth will undoubtedly be a highlight of WA's cultural calendar.'
We have tickets for both concerts - at $300 per seat there'll be no falling asleep for George!
